OFF LEASH PARKS.
This is a list of links to where to locate off leash dog parks around Queensland.
Firstly, a little of friendly advice. At no time should you allow your greyhound off lead unless it is in a fully fenced area. This is suggested due to the greyhounds notorious lack a recall once it starts to chase. As greys can run at speeds of upto 60km per hour it would be almost impossible for a driver of a car to stop in time. It would be unfortunate for one of our fury friends to be hurt due to running out in front of a moving car. There are many sad stories on the internet regarding what has happened to greyhounds that have been allowed to roam off lead in unfenced areas.
It is also recommended that any time that your greyhound is off leash in a fully fenced off leash park that you keep your Greyhound muzzled for safety, even in muzzle free council areas such as Pine Rivers Council. It would be unfortunate for an accident to occur that could jeopardise the hard work that is going into changing the Queensland laws regarding muzzling.
